The Hiller and Furrower both function to make raised 'rows' which facilitate drainage and drier conditions for planting after a wet spring as well as letting the soil 'warm' up sooner after the winter for earlier planting.  Additionally, plastic mulch can be laid over the rows which reduce weed competition and conserve moisture.  Both these attachments attach behind the tiller with a pin for quick attachment and removal. They can be used in combination with the rotary plow which throws the dirt to the side and aids in the 'hilling up' formation of the seed bed.
